What to Expect

Before any injection, Dr Ali will assess your symptoms, medical history and suitability for treatment. Where appropriate, a corticosteroid injection may be offered to help relieve pain, reduce inflammation and improve function.

The procedure is usually quick and performed in a clinical setting under sterile conditions. Aftercare advice will be provided, including activity guidance and when to seek further medical advice.

Important Information

Steroid injections are not suitable for everyone. Suitability will depend on your diagnosis, medical history, medications, infection risk and previous response to treatment. Some patients may require further assessment, imaging or referral before injection.
